Bio: Deborah is a licensed marital and family therapist in private practice near Raleigh, North Carolina. She has been counseling women, couples, and children for over twenty years. An accomplished speaker, Deborah is passionate about reaching women with the message that no matter what life has thrown at them, they have a unique design and purpose in God's kingdom, and that He will be faithful to restore His vision for their lives. Her desire is to see women heal from life's wounds and rise to become the woman the Original Design™ God intended.
She offers a specially-designed conference/retreat packages for women in church groups who need a time of refreshing, reflecting, renewal, and rededication. She hosts the conferences at a retreat center in the mountains of North Carolina, or she can come to your area to minister to your group wherever needed.
She is the author of Trapped in the Magic Mirror, Fruit from the Field (self-published), and has two books pending, Secrets of the Garden, and The SAM Syndrome: Help for Women Who Are Stupid About Men. She is a frequent guest on nationally syndicated radio and television programs, and most recently appeared on Daytime, a syndicated NBC production, as well as appearances on Time for Hope, on the Inspirational Network, and The Harvest Show, produced by LeSea Broadcasting in South Bend, Indiana. She is represented by media publicist and book agent, Don Otis, owner of Veritas Communications.
Deborah is a member of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, N. C. AFMT, WIN, AWSA, and is also the CEO of International Disaster Education Associates, Inc. She founded the nonprofit, Community in Crisis, Inc, which teaches churches how to minister to families during disaster in their own communities. She serves on the board of directors for Cambridge Place, a group for substance-abusing women and their children, and will serve on a team beginning in the fall of 2007 teaching workshops in the Someone Cares Caregiver conferences being sponsored by Lifeway at the Ridgecrest Conference Center in Ridgecrest, North Carolina.
