Our main event is the annual AWSA conference which is just prior to the opening of the CBA (Christian Bookseller's Tradeshow). We also sponsor prayer teleconferences, prayer retreats, and the Golden Scroll Awards Banquet. Our communication centers around an online loop where we find connection and prayer support with those who are traveling similar journeys. Our members can choose to be contacted daily or only for special announcements. Our Golden Scroll Awards Banquet takes place just prior to the opening of CBA. We invite authors, editors, and publishers to gather for our presentation of the Golden Scroll Member, Editor, and Publisher of the Year Awards. We also publish books together, including, Silver and Gold (NavPress), Intimate Moments with God (Cook), Intimate Encounters with God (Cook). We are open only to those Christian women communicators who have at least two of the following requirement:
All applications are subject to review by AWSA peers, AWSA reserves the right to withhold membership for any reason. Our AWSA Code of Ethics is posted below. To join AWSA, fill out our online membership application.
Article One: The AWSA member shall act with honesty, integrity, and professionalism. She shall operate her writing and speaking ministry and conduct her personal life in a way that will honor and not bring shame or reproach to the name of the Lord. Article Two: The AWSA member shall accurately represent her qualifications and experience in both oral and written communications. Article Three: The AWSA member shall not engage in plagiarism and shall avoid using materials originated by others, either orally or in writing, without seeking permission of the originator. Article Four: The AWSA member shall treat other authors and speakers with professional courtesy, dignity, and respect. Article Five: The AWSA member shall maintain and respect the confidentiality of business and/or personal affairs of fellow members. The AWSA member shall use the Membership Directory in accordance with the purposes for which it was created -- including fellowship among members, networking, and professional contacts. However, this precludes use of the Directory for personal profit. Article Six: The AWSA member shall honor her obligations to other ministries and organizations, as well as community and government. Understanding that the Advanced Writers and Speakers Association exists for the purpose of mutual edification, education, networking, Christian fellowship, prayer, and support, all AWSA members shall subscribe to the following pledge:
